Prague Autumn

12. 9. – 1.10. 2008

The Prague Autumn Festival continues in its endeavour to incorporate the works of Czech composers into the repertoire of its guests from abroad, to acquaint Czech audiences with world orchestras which are less well-known but of a high quality, and to search for and discover forgotten or unknown works of music of the 19th, 20th and 21st centuries.

13th edition of the Strings of Autumn Festival.
Since its very inception, the Strings of Autumn has set itself the goal of inspiring and initiating original projects. This year, there will be a concert of Chava Alberstein with guest artists from the Czech Republic, Lenka Dusilová’s joint project with the Clarinet Factory and Beata Hlavenková, and the concert bringing together Joel Frederiksen and Jiří Pavlica, each with his ensemble.
The Strings of Autumn has developped a scheme characterized by three programme sections: namely, INSPIRATION; CROSSOVER; and LUMINARIES. Its programmes are by no means focused exclusively on “classical” music in either modern or authentic interpretation, but also on jazz, world music, and various crossover projects overlapping the traditional boundaries of styles and genres.
